9 months ago today, Summer was born. This means she's been alive as long as I carried her. I cannot believe how cool she is. The things she can do are astounding. I am in awe of her. I know, I know, all parents say that after baby comes. So true.
She has started making different faces. She can scrunch her face up and make snorting noises and it's the cutest thing ever! She can also get frustrated now. Obviously frustrated, like when she wants out of her living room barricade and I move her, she starts to whimper and as bad as I feel for her, it's still so cute.
I love the way she launches her binky. She doesn't spit it out, she launches it a good foot! I also love the way she has learned to open a cabinet door but can't quite get her hand in to grab something before the door closes again (babyproofing time!!). I also love the way she smiles at me when she wakes up even though I made her cry for 20 mins before sleeping (ok that one's a selfish one but still).
She had her first actual hurtful experience today. She's fumbled before and has fallen on her diaper padded bum, cried and got over it, but today was different... So she's standing while laying her arms on top of her toybox... does it all the time. Today, though, she must have lost footing because she fell. She didn't fall hard or at an ackward angle, just straight down, but on the way down, she did hit her mouth on the toybox. I saw it and heard it and knew that this time was not the time to downplay- that one actually hurt! Poor sweetie. She's fine; no blood, not fat lip, but definitely a hurt little baby :(
Summer has experienced tons in her 9 months here, and so have I. I am proud of all of us (daddy and grandparents included). I can't wait to show her the world and I'm sure she can't wait to do the same.
HAPPY 9 MONTHS SWEET SUMMER :)
